Eidoria is a habitable planet in the Monarch system.

Due to a unique combination of gravity, orbital elliptic, and atmospheric conditions, Eidoria has a highly unusual climate. For most of its 10-year orbit, it endures a single scorching-hot dry season. However, during the approach to its furthest point from the sun, clouds begin to gather, enveloping the planet in a dramatic global thunderhead. Finally, the clouds break, unleashing a massive deluge. Most of the surface is flooded by the rain.

For 2-3 years after the flood, green life blooms on Eidoria. Species which lie dormant for the other 7 years of the planet's orbit flourish, turning the surface into a verdant marsh.

As the planet dries out once more, the monsoon bloom dies off, leaving vast expanses of dry dead plants which will eventually form the soil that supports the next orbit's life.

Since 3192, Eidoria has been home to several permanent research outposts. By the Quiet Era, some of these outposts have grown into small residential villages.
