Beredon is a large habitable planet in the Rookwood system.

The planet is at the sunward edge of the habitable zone, and is generally warm with mild winters. Combined with a relatively smooth surface, this leads to large portions of the planet being covered with sweeping grassy plains. The largest life forms on Beredon are deer-sized grazers, preyed upon by roaming felinids.

Beredon's agreeable disposition made it an excellent candidate for large-scale farming. With the other planet in the Rookwood system, Farando, being the subject of numerous restrictions on colonisation, Beredon's farming industry quickly became the whole system's prime industry.
